Everything you need to use Wake Uni.Core12.Learning.Ap — how to start, how lessons and drills work, how to read a report, and how to keep results safe.

This app teaches the first year at a public university in the Volta Region dedicated to the health and allied sciences — the courses shared by students of nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, medical laboratory science, physician assistantship, physiotherapy, dietetics, public health and the other health professions: communication and study skills, computing, Ghanaian and African studies, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and biostatistics, medical terminology, the human body, first aid, public health and health promotion, and the health professions and their ethics. One short lesson at a time, with practice after every lesson and an explanation after every answer.
It names no university and copies no course material. Its sister apps, Uni.Core 1 to 11, have other first-year courses.
Nothing in this app is medical advice. It gives no doses, treatments or diagnoses, and every clinical figure in it is invented for practice. The first aid lessons are knowledge only: learn first aid hands-on from a trained instructor, and in an emergency in Ghana call 112.
No university, lecturer or course code is named in the app, and nothing in it is copied from a course reader or a past paper. Always follow your own university's course outline: where it differs from the app, the outline is right.
The app runs in a web browser, but it is meant to live on the home screen like any other app. On Android, open it in Chrome, tap the three dots and choose Add to Home screen or Install app. On iPhone, open it in Safari, tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
Once it is there it opens full screen and works with no internet at all.
Opening the file inside WhatsApp, Gmail or a file manager shows a preview, and previews do not run apps: the buttons will not respond. Ask for the web link rather than the file, and open it in Chrome or Safari.
Tap Add a learner, then give a first name, an age and a picture. No email is asked for, nothing is paid, and the app opens at once. Up to five learners can share one phone.
Nothing is locked. The lessons are numbered in a sensible order, but you can open any of them at any time.
▲ Back to the contentsTap a lesson and its pages appear one at a time — Next page and Back move between them. On the last page, Start the drill appears. A learner who already knows the lesson can skip straight there from any page.
After every answer, right or wrong, the app shows the right answer and why it is right. Nothing moves on by itself.
Some lessons end with a piece of writing to do against a clock: a summary, an essay or an analysis. The app never marks it: it shows a model answer and a short check list to judge your own work by. Showing it to a lecturer, a tutor or a friend is even better.
On numeracy and science questions a yellow pencil opens a sheet of squared paper for working. Nothing on it is saved.
About four in ten questions in a round are drawn from what that learner has missed before. Mixed revision on the home screen draws questions from every lesson started.
▲ Back to the contentsReports, Settings, Support and the class dashboard sit behind a multiplication question. It is not security; it simply stops a report or a setting being changed by accident.
My chart shows scores over time and a board of every lesson, green where it is secure. Questions I miss lists the questions this learner gets wrong most often, with a button to practise exactly those.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Questions per round | 5, 10, 15 or 20. A lesson's drill never repeats a question to fill a round. |
| Way of speaking and voice | Which accent and voice read the questions aloud. |
| Sounds | Turns the tones off. |
| Animations | Turns off movement. |
| Bring back questions I missed more often | Weaves past mistakes back into rounds. Leave it on. |
The report is written from the learner's own recorded answers: drills done, accuracy, each lesson, a chart, the questions missed most, and recommendations. You can print it, save it as a PDF, email it or send it on WhatsApp. It is not a school grade.
▲ Back to the contentsThe first 3 days are free, with no card. After that a grown-up chooses a plan: GH₵15 a month or GH₵150 a year for up to 3 learners on one phone, or GH₵700 a year for a class of up to 40. Payment is by mobile money or card through Paystack, and the receipt goes to the grown-up's email. A code from a school or teacher can be typed in on the plans screen instead.
▲ Back to the contentsAlmost always the browser's data was cleared, or the app was opened in a different browser. Results live in the browser that made them. Restore from a backup — see the next chapter.
Close every tab of the app and open it again, with internet on.
Tell us through Support, saying which lesson and question.
▲ Back to the contentsEvery result lives in this browser on this device, and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded to us. That keeps a learner's work private — and it means that clearing the browser, changing phone or reinstalling will lose it unless you have saved a backup.
Settings → Save a backup writes a small file to the device. Email it to yourself and it is safe. To bring it back: Settings → Restore from a backup. If the learner already exists on the device, the copy with more history is kept.
Settings → Clear results wipes that learner's scores but keeps the learner. Settings → Erase this pupil removes the learner and everything they did. It cannot be undone, so save a backup first.
